About Me

Sarah Strachan Craft is a small independent one-woman business. I make all the dogs to order using a method I invented years ago whilst messing around with craft supplies with my children. I sold a few at a local craft fair, then a few more, and the business grew! I'm often adding new breeds and have a lively community following on Instagram where I show new ideas, announce special offers or ask for suggestions of breeds to try out.
If you sign up to my newsletter you'll be the first to know when I have time to take on a handful of commissions (which I do very occasionally.)
The dogs are poseable and are popular with doll photography enthusiasts, being the right size for Blythe dolls, Barbie, Sindy and many others.
You can request a special colour of scarf for your dog, otherwise they'll arrive packaged in a sturdy box sporting a red scarf or neckerchief.

A bit of background about me...

I studied Fine Art Sculpture at Central St Martins in London, Exeter College and Dublin's National College of Art and Design.
I had a freelance career in London making creatures for film, TV and theatre, mainly working for The Jim Henson Creature Shop.

I moved to Devon to have a family and started a doll-making business which led to a collaboration with Orla Keily for her "A Life in Pattern" exhibition where I made 27 dolls dressed in miniature versions of her dress designs.
I have been making dogs for 10 years and have over 1000 5 star reviews on etsy having posted little dogs all over the world.
I live in Devon with my family... and a cat!
I paint abstract contemporary work which you can see on Instagram at @artsarahstrachan
Sadly, the dogs are not toys and are not suitable for children.
